このフレーズを初めて聞いたとき、なんとなくわかるようでわからないような、そんな感じでした。
でも今は簡潔で便利なフレーズだなぁと思います。
You don’t want to know.
意味：知らないほうがいいよ。聞いたら後悔するよ
質問されて答えをはぐらかしたい、答えたくないときに便利です 🙂
さて、今回の使用例はまず「キャッスル」から。
Beckett : Sir, how did the mayor handle the news?
Montgomery : Ooh, you don’t want to know.
次は「クリミナルマインド」から。
Gideon: He’s taking the blood and organs from the bodies and putting them in cylindrical containers. It’s anthropophagy.
Penelope : Anthro what what?
Gideon: You don’t want to know. Give me that.
Penelope : I’m a big girl. I can take it.
次は「ヴェロニカ・マーズ」から。
Veronica: So what’re you up to?
Wallace: Trust me, you don’t want to know.
